The Department of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development has announced 4,000 vacancies for paid internships and is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

Requirements for appointment

For an appointment to an internship position, a candidate must

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or a Diploma in any of the above disciplines from a recognized university
  • Have graduated not earlier than the year 2018
  • Be proficient in computer skills

Internship duties and responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Completing duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by supervisors.
  • Documenting relevant skills acquired in their areas of deployment in the affordable housing programme and marketing project sites across the country
  • Actively participating in any relevant mentorship activities and additional responsibilities designed for the programme.

How Long Will the Internship Last?

The duration for the Ministry of Housing, Lands, and Public Works is twelve (12) months, non-renewable. Successful applicants shall be offered a monthly stipend by the state department for housing and urban development, at the rate as determined by the government. 

Certificate

After completing the internship programme, candidates will be given a certificate by the State Department for Housing and Urban Planning.

Internship Application Deadline 2025

Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications at www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke on or before Thursday, 14th August 2025. The Ministry shall contact shortlisted candidates.
